º£½ÇÊÓƵ Alum Featured in International Film Festival

During the 2019-2020 school year, º£½ÇÊÓƵ's Apprenticeship Program helped then-senior Alex take an experience watching a documentary with his father and transform it into a film project of his own: a ten-minute movie, Cultivate, which was accepted into multiple film festivals, including The Big Apple Film Festival, The Lift Off Film Festival, and the All American High School Film Festival. Director of External Affairs and Program Innovation, Jerry Pavlon-Blum, describes, "Apprenticeship at º£½ÇÊÓƵ turns the common assumption about apprenticeship away from a student drinking in what a master teacher does, and asks Master Teachers to follow the impulses and creative directions of their students."  After graduating from º£½ÇÊÓƵ, Alex went on to attend SUNY Purchase, where he is excelling in academic classes and loving digital film courses. As his mother describes, "he has come so far and we are forever grateful to º£½ÇÊÓƵ!" Recently, the success of Alex's film has broken international barriers, and Cultivate was selected for an international film festival! Cultivate was screened at the Hudson International Film Festival New York Virtual Edition in New York City at the end of 2020.
