The 2021-22 Robert Louis º£½ÇÊÓƵ school year is off to a fun and fast start. Students were excited to begin the year, whether they were new students coming to º£½ÇÊÓƵ for the first time or were returning students eager to greet their friends, see their teachers, and get everyone back to face-to-face learning. The new students were welcomed first with an orientation tailored for them to give them a feel for what to expect. The returning students received their own orientation to reintroduce them to º£½ÇÊÓƵ.

September featured several key events. Dr. Kelly Graling provided a back-to-school talk for families at º£½ÇÊÓƵ and across peer schools. On the 22nd, there was a meeting for new parents. On the 29th, parents met with teachers for Curriculum Night and ran through an abbreviated sample school day schedule. On the 30th, students and faculty enjoyed Field Day, with activities ranging from in-school karaoke to frisbee and soccer in Central Park.

Halloween, October's biggest holiday, was pushed to early November, due to scheduling, but students and faculty still had a blast, engaging in trivia Kahoot, pumpkin painting, and festive board games. October also featured a partial return to Community Meeting, as all of the seniors gathered in the lobby, masked, on the 22nd to reflect on an eventful week.

The º£½ÇÊÓƵ faculty and administration is thrilled to be fully back in person with our structured COVID protocols in place [/blog/covid-protocols-for-the-2021-2022-school-year ]. Competitive sports are back in full swing. Soccer has been a highlight-filled, community building activity, with many students supporting their peers on game days. Practices have been held on Roosevelt Island, and games have been played in Flushing Meadows Corona Park and Central Park. Students playing soccer have the option to be masked outdoors.
