is an annual celebration of creative expression at the º£½ÇÊÓƵ. Students and teachers participate in a week of workshops, art projects, literary readings, as well as dramatic and musical performances. Art Manifest coordinators, John Headly and Rebecca Cavalier, wanted to share with the school a tasting of what’s to come in March with the all school event of Mini-Manifest.

Students, faculty and staff joined together on Thursday, January 28th, with the goal of creating a piece inspired by the work of , an American painter/artist and photographer who’s most known for his massive-scale portraits. When Chuck was younger, he contracted polio, which only allows him to paint with a brush strapped to his hand. However, he continues to paint using small scale squares and artfully piecing them together to create one image.

The º£½ÇÊÓƵ students were tasked the same challenge: to paint a single square canvas using an assigned color pallet and to create one large mural image using these squares. The canvases are currently being analyzed and placed by the upper level art students, and will be displayed at the annual º£½ÇÊÓƵ Art Gallery in June.

This year’s Art Manifest will be held March 29th and 30th with a special student performance on Friday, March 31. º£½ÇÊÓƵ extends invitations to professionals who work in the culinary, visual arts, dramatic, literary, dance and music fields to come and share their process/experience.
